here is the blueprint that we decided on. this is by no means the final version and the WHOLE reason i'm posting this on here at all is for discussion. so please, please please!!!!! make a comment or six on this. please. pretty please? (i'm desparate!)
here's the illogic behind the design:
MEANING: Looking at artwork from Sudan inspired the design. The landscape is designed to be recognizable and in the keeping of Sudanese context and beauty standards. Both familiar and peaceful. The community scene is to represent an ecumenical community. This side presents the fact that the global community cares.
GOAL: Community involvement and ownership of the tent.
METHOD: Hand prints to color the tree on the left panel of the tent plus a free area above the sitting figures on the right. There will also be a paint by numbers scheme set up for the rest of the savannah scene and the community scene.
The next step is schedule'n a sketch party to get this theme up and running. I'm thinking next Wednesday or Thursday evening.

I think we need to do a more political statement like: http://www.n8w.com/newweb/images/divest_from_sudan-m.gif
Oh now that's truly frightening...
Luke-
This looks exactly like what we discussed in the meeting yesterday; thanks for drawring it up! Have we found outg from Meghan how many "other people's" squares we will have to integrate?
the tent squares will be used to make blankets and quilts! so that's pretty cool. someone pointed out that the free space over the community is EXTREMELY meaningful as this would be the thoughts and words of the global community (and the LTS community specifically) to peeps of Sudan and Darfur.
thanks for the comment, we're now working on when to hold a sketch part to get the design on the tent.
